 Summary

Challenging opportunities exist to join a large Chinese import and distribution company based in Chadwell Heath, Essex. The company is London's largest Chinese cash and carry network and delivery service and has five locations around London; employs approximately 300 staff and majority of the Cash and Carry are Chinese speaking.

The Company has over 2000 delivery customers majority of whom are oriental backgrounds across the UK and majority of them are Chinese takeaways and restaurants, the Cash and Carry has over 7000 sales every week.

Assistant Managers have organisational and management responsibilities, reporting to the superstore division manager. Because the business operates on a 7-days per week basis, Assistant Managers must be able to deputise for Store Managers and efficiently run a Chinese cash and carry branch dealing with all aspects of site management, including sales, stock control, health & safety, personnel and general administration.

Qualifications

Degree or equivalent (degree in a business related subject preferred)

Must be multi-lingual – English and Chinese (Mandarin & Cantonese) – written and spoken

Experience

Experience not essential as training will be given.

Job and Candidate Specification:

Main responsibilities of the post:

To act as first point of contact for all queries from staff, customers and suppliers

To manage all cash and carry staff

To review job applications and arrange interviews as required

To update the staff of all company policies, procedures and rules changes in meetings

To oversee and assist with stock control and ordering including organising and undertaking

the quarterly stock checks and ensuring goods are always in stock

To log customer complaints and process as necessary

To attend meetings, conferences and training days relevant to projects

To handle investigations and meetings for grievance and disciplinary procedure

To undertake any other project work that may be reasonably assigned from time to time

To organise and provide training for cash and carry staff

Knowledge/Technical skills

Must be Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese) and English speaking

Ability to read and write Chinese

Ability to translate policies into Chinese

Must be able to work weekends

Must hold a valid U.K. driving license

Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages

Personal specification

Ability to work independently on own initiative with minimal supervision

Ability to interpret and apply company policies

Ability to analyse customer needs and make recommendation based on sound business knowledge and commercial acumen

Ability to work as part of a team

Ability to respond flexibly to change

A full time position is available in our order processing department. Applicants must possess the following.

A Human Resource Assistant is required to provide organisational and administrative support to the HR Department and the Board of Directors. 

 

As an HR Assistant you will be providing generalist service to client base and to work on various HR projects and activities as required.

 

Main qualifications and experience

 

bulletA minimum of one year’s work experience in a related field of work or a keen interest in the field of Human Resources
bulletPossess strong written and verbal communication skills
bulletCurrently pursuing or interested in gaining an HR qualification

Salary - £16,000.00 per annum
